Preparing Division I recruits from the ACC, American East, Big East, Big 10, CAA, The Ivy League, Patriot League and Big Ten conferences, Committed Academy is the first of its kind preparing the nations best lacrosse players for the rigors of being a student-athlete before they arrive at their respective college campuses.
Over the course of the weekend, July 29-31, 2016 at Goucher College in Towson, Md., participants had the chance to engage in training sessions on and off of the field, stay overnight and dine with their classmates and experience competition consistent to the level of play they will experience in college.
Segmented by conference, the Committed Academy recruits competed in UN1TUS full custom shooter shirts, reversible pinnies and shorts unique to the conference that the participants have committed to play within. The full custom uniforms highlighted each participant’s graduation year, conference and last name.
Competing for the Committed Cup was among one of the many activities that participants engaged in and learned from over the course of the weekend. Participating in character leadership development sessions with the Wounded Warrior Project, academic advising, handling social pressures, media training and nutrition, The Inside Lacrosse Committed Academy presented important knowledge, skills and lessons that college student-athletes can utilize.
The future of college lacrosse is bright and with the help of The Committed Academy, players are learning valuable lessons and practices both on and off of the field.
